Florianópolis with a population of about 350 000 is the capital of the State of Santa Catarina in the South of Brasil. With its beautiful beaches it is a paradise for holiday makers and surfers. For the last 50 years it is has attracted a growing number of young people interested in alternative life-styles. Six years ago an anthroposophical clinic was set up which runs regular courses on biography, art therapy and social pedagogy and does interesting work with the young and the third age. The Christian Community was established four years ago with a resident priest and regular Sunday services for adults and children . Summer camps for children have been run for the past 4 years. Rio de Janeiro: Services are held four to five times a year in the Waldorf School Micaelis in the district of Humaitá.
